Although homoeopathic substances listed in this article are generally not known to cause serious side effects, their effectiveness has not been demonstrated by scientific research. Consumers should check labels carefully, since a homoeopathic product that is not diluted, or not diluted enough, may contain ingredients that cause allergic reactions, side effects, or interactions. It is always advisable to discuss any new treatment program with your healthcare practitioner.

For more information, see Homoeopathy FAQs, "What Is Homoeopathy?," and “Using Homoeopathy with Professional Guidance” in Homoeopathic Medicine.

Bursitis is painful inflammation of a bursa (a fluid-filled sac that cushions a body site that is subject to pressure and friction). It is most often seen in the shoulder, but is also common in elbows, knees, hips, heels, and other areas. Consult with your physician to rule out serious injury or infection. Homoeopathic remedies often help to ease discomfort.
