Country style ribs aren’t actually ribs at all, but are a cut of pork between the ribs and the shoulder.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs Cajun spice blend
  • 2 1/2 lbs country-style ribs
  • Barbecue Sauce1 14.5 oz can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup whiskey
  • 1/2 cup steak sauce
  • 2 Tbs grated onion
  • 2 cloves grated garlic

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Rub Cajun spice blend on ribs and place on a rack on a baking sheet. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes.
  • While ribs are cooking, add ingredients for whisky barbecue sauce to a small sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Let the sauce reduce until it has thickened and the alcohol has cooked off. Sauce will become much sweeter.
  • Baste ribs with sauce and continue to cook until the ribs have reached an internal temperature of 160°F.
