New Ingredient: Vegan D-Glucosamine

LEHVOSS Nutrition always strive to expand our portfolio, selecting only the highest quality ingredients to share with our customers, which is why we are very excited to announce we have added Vegan D-Glucosamine to our portfolio, available as two grades (HCl and 2 KCl). Both these grades are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and allergen-free, whilst also being animal-friendly! Alongside this, Vegan D-Glucosamine has lower environmental impact – compared to that of chitin-derived shellfish products.

Produced by fermentation, according to research, Vegan D-Glucosamine provides the same health benefits that have made Glucosamine a popular ingredient in supplementation over the years. A study comparing the effects of shellfish-derived glucosamine and fermentation-derived glucosamine found that both had positive impacts on joint health1.

Several studies have been conducted on Glucosamine over the years to review its benefits for the human body, for example, a study carried out over 12 weeks – with 60 participants with knee osteoarthritis, taking 1,500mg/day – reported improvements for symptoms of pain, stiffness and physical function compared to placebo2.

Additional studies have further cemented Glucosamine’s benefits for joint health3, with trials conducted over a 6 month4 and 3 year5 time frame, concluding that Glucosamine may offer long-term benefits by providing sustained structural and symptomatic benefits for osteoarthritis.
