According to a recent meta-analysis of 13 randomised control trials, Coenzyme Q10 supplementation may offer significant fatigue-alleviating effects for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome and for healthy individuals. Data published in Pharmacology indicated that a statistical reduction in fatigue was demonstrated in all trials examined by researchers, with positive results consistent among both healthy and fatigue-associated disease subgroups when these were examined separately.
Trials were conducted over a duration range of 4 to 24 weeks, on 1126 subjects with a mean age of 49 years, 25% of which were male. Subjects with diagnoses including chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, end-stage heart failure, obesity and more were evaluated along with healthy individuals and healthy individuals with fatigue. The conclusion noted a positive result between treatment duration and fatigue reduction. Click here to read the full study.
