Did you know that sulphur is the third most abundant mineral in the human body? While our bodies contain sulphur-containing amino acids (SAAs) such as methionine, cysteine, and others that can donate sulphur to biochemical reactions, these amino acids have essential functions themselves in their intact state. A new research review published in the journal Advances in Nutrition in March showed positive effects of plant-based, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) for heart health.
In a comprehensive review of the scientific literature, researchers from universities and institutions in the U.S. and Spain found that increasing ALA in the diet, which is found in plant-based foods like chia, walnuts, and flaxseeds, was associated with a 10% lower risk of cardiovascular disease and a 20% reduced risk of fatal coronary heart disease.
The researchers considered and analysed quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs) as well as observational studies that evaluated the consumption levels and effects of ALA on heart disease risk factors like inflammation, blood pressure, overall risk and risk of death from heart disease.

The research was done on the effects of Bacognize® on stress, fatigue, quality of life and sleep in adults with self-reported poor sleep.
The winner will be announce on Wednesday 13th July at 11am CT during a live broadcast on Nutraingredients-USA.com so watch this space.
In this interesting study, researchers examined the administration of 150mg Bacognize® (twice daily) and its impact on quality of life (QOL) measures, including emotional wellbeing, alertness, and quality of sleep.

How great was Vitafoods this year? It was really good to see so many new and familiar faces visiting the LEHVOSS stand and we would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and business.
After such a long pandemic period, there was a nice sense of normality and relief to be able to navigate through the days with no restrictions in place, making it a great atmosphere all around. Something we have missed for more than two years now.
We enjoyed many good meetings with customers and partners, and were also very excited to encounter lots of potential new prospects which we look forward to following up now that we are back from the event.
