According to various published clinical studies, D2 has shown to be as effective as D3 in maintaining circulating concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (also known as calcifediol) the pre-hormone that is produced in the liver by hydroxylation of vitamin D).
The typical nutritional profile of our vitamin D2 from mushroom powder (not available in our product specification neither tested on each lot) shows that the product is generally rich in ergosterol, l-ergothioneine (anti-oxidant, potential “new vitamin”), carbohydrates (beta-glucan, chitin-glucan, glucosamine), vitamins (B2, B3, B5, B6, C, D2, Folic Acid), minerals (calcium, copper, iron ferrous, potassium, magnesium, manganese, sodium, selenium, zinc), flavonoids, lignans, phenolic acids and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).
