Methylcobalamin is a naturally occurring form of Vitamin B12 that you can get through many food sources and/or supplements. It differs from cyanocobalamin in that the cyanide is replaced by a methyl group. The liver converts cyanocobalamin to methylcobalamin which is the activated form of Vitamin B12.
This has several health claims by EFSA ranging from maintenance of neurological and psychological function to the contribution of normal energy-yielding metabolism and reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Many of above health claims are the primary focus of attention in today’s difficult “COVID” world.
Fatigue is one of the main symptoms of a B12 deficiency. When this vitamin is low, the body has fewer red blood cells whose main job it is to transport oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. A lack of red blood cells results in tiredness and fatigue.
